The five day training programme concluded with a participants submitting written feedback on the programme. Each received a certificate of participation from the organisers and two packs of local variety of vegetable seeds. Dr. Vanaja Ramprasad wished all the participants the very best in their future ventures and invited active involvement in the activities of GREEN Foundation. She concluded by thanking the sponsors, the participants and the facilitator team for the success of the programme. The participants had a joint photo session before they departed.

Feed back
Assessment by the Participants: In all 35 participants comprising small and marginal farmers, animators of GREEN Foundation and representatives from other organisations of the state took part in the training – cum – workshop on organic farming held at pyramid valley, Bangalore from June 4th to 8th 2009.
Based on the feed back collected in the form of questionnaire the assessment of the programme by the participants as follows:
- The range of topics covered: 40% of the participants rated it as excellent while most of them (60%) feet it good.
- Most Valuable components: The reactions of the participants varied depending on the topics and the assessment was done on ten point scale. Most of the participants (91.4%) by giving score 7 and above considered that inputs and compost making most valuable component to them. Similarly other topics like basics of organic agriculture and development (88.6%), crop, soil, pest and disease management (77.1%) and group work (80%) were considered next valuable components by majority of the participants giving high scores (7 and above). Around half or even less number of participants considered the components like potential organic standards and certification (37.1%) as most valuable to them.
- Pace at which the instructors communicated – All most all the participants (97.1%) were of the opinion that it was just right.
- Majority of the participants (60%) felt good and rest (37.1%) as excellent regarding the presentation by the instructors in a clear and understandable manner.
- The following are some of the comments and suggestions expressed by the participants.
- Timing of such programme should be during Jan – Feb.
- There is a need for more number of practical classes, exposure visit and farmers discussion sessions.
- It is better to increase the training period, say for 10 days.
- Need for a guided action plan for undertaking organic farming.
- The topics on certification and ICS were covered a little fast and hurriedly.
- Translation, wherever it is necessary has to be improved.
- Serving of organic food to the participants.

The participants felt that the following topics also need to be offered
- Soil testing, rain water harvesting, cow rearing, growing on commercial crops organically, vegetable seed production, terrace gardening, marketing opportunities for organic foods and government help for organic farmers.
- The quality of organisation of the workshop was rated as excellent by 40% of the participants and as good by the rest (60%).
All the participants recommended this type of workshops for others also.
